Our Clergy

Father Joe Nettekoven

Rev. Joseph M. Nettekoven, Pastor

I grew up in Whittier, Ca. and went to Cal State University in Fullerton. I was in Berkeley for 5 years and then St. John's in Camarillo for my seminary training. I was ordained in 1975 and was first assigned to the Navajo Reservation at St. Paul's Mission in Crownpoint, New Mexico. I came to the Diocese of Orange at it's inception in 1976 assigned to Our Lady of Fatima in San Clemente, then St. Polycarp in Stanton, St. Martin de Porres in Yorba Linda, St. Irenaeus in Cypress, and Holy Spirit in Fountain Valley. I was pastor at St. Justin Martyr in Anaheim for 18 years before coming to San Antonio de Padua. I have been so graced by so many 'knocking' at my door in all my experiences as a priest. It is my hope and prayer that we all may be open to the graced opportunities that God will present to us as we open the door to Him and each other here at San Antonio de Padua. God Bless you all. Fr. Joe

Father John LeVecke

Rev. John R. LeVecke, Parochial Vicar

I am an ABCH (Anaheim Boy Come Home)! I was born in Anaheim and raised through St. Boniface parish and parochial school. Actually, I am 2nd generation Anaheimer as my father was born in Anaheim in 1920, and my mother is a naturalized citizen migrating from Derry, No. Ireland as a young girl. I am one of seven children. I graduated from Servite High School in 1971. After spending a semester of college at the National University of Mexico, Mexico, D.F., I graduated from San Diego State University in 1975, in Telecommunications and Film. After working professionally in television and film production, I attended St. John's Seminary in Camarillo, CA, and was ordained for the Diocese of Orange in 1984. I have served the parish communities of St. Barbara, Santa Ana, and St. Irenaeus, Cypress, as deacon. I served St. Hedwig, Los Alamitos, and St. Joachim, Costa Mesa, before entering the California Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in 1989. As a Jesuit I ministered in the major works of the Society, serving in High School, University, Parish, and Television Production in San Jose, Santa Clara, St. Louis, New York, Los Angeles, and Taipei, Taiwan. My last work as a Jesuit was as the National Ecclesial Assistant of Christian Life Community (CLC). I traveled the nation, reporting to the Jesuit Conference Office and the U.S. Bishops Conference Office in Washington, D.C., promoting the Spiritual Exercises of St.Ignatius Loyola, especially within small faith based communities. I returned to the Diocese of Orange in 2008, serving the parish communities of St. Pius V, Buena Park and San Francisco Solano, Rancho Santa Margarita. I am both delighted and honored to return home and now serve this well established and very active, faith-filled parish as a proud AMCH!
