Family Assitance

The Family Assistance program is a charitable service designed to provide temporary assistance to families who have fallen on hard times and who need financial and other form of support. The program’s primary mission is to provide rental assistance to low income, working families in need. Ministry volunteers from the parish interview prospective families to determine how the Family Assistance program can be of help.

A mentor will be assigned to the families in the program to provide consultation and counseling as needed. A food pantry is maintained for families in the program as well as for other needy individuals. Special distributions of food and gifts are made at unique times such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Donated furniture and clothes are collected and stored for distribution to families in the program.

"Thank You" to all the parishioners who donated food for the Family Assistance Food Pantry using our new reusable Blue Bags. Third Sunday of each month

Family Assistance has identified the third Sunday of each month for the collection of food from parishioners attending Mass. Donated food is distributed to families in need from the ministry's Food Pantry on Thursday afternoons. To service the needs of families who seek food from our pantry, we need at least 100 bags of food every month. The ministry needs your help to assist these less fortunate families who have fallen on hard times.

The third Sunday of each month is also Green envelope Sunday. Your donations from the green envelopes are the source of funds that enables Family Assistance to provide financial aid to working poor families and families at risk of becoming homeless. Should you have questions or need to contact Family assistance, please call Teri Hicks, 714.974.9728. Thank you for your generous support!
